Schools financial benchmarking – the role of governance (with Better Governor)

This Governors for Schools webinar, facilitated by Better Governor, will focus on the role that financial benchmarking plays in schools.

When the Department for Education (DfE) February 2021 data shows one in eight maintained schools has a deficit, the time could not be more opportune for governors in maintained schools and academies to explore how benchmarking can inform their questions and provide an insight into how effectively their school or trust finances are being led and managed.

The session will: explore DfE benchmarking data, outline how boards should use it in order to meet the expectations and statutory duties they have in 2021, and point to the questions that governors and trustees should be asking.
